Having a unique, cylindrical shape that resembles a cactus with up to 15 ribs
The stems are thick and fleshy, typically growing upright and forming clumps as they mature, usually a rich green color, with some varieties displaying a slight bluish or glaucous tint
Drought-resistant
Thrives in warm conditions, early spring, just before new growth begins.
The top of the plant will form a crown of flowers when in bloom.

All parts of this plant are toxic, particularly the milky latex sap, which contains compounds that can cause skin irritation.
