A shrub to small tree, usually scrambling.
Simple lanceolate leaves with margins rolled under.
Woody fruits split open to reveal red seeds, medicinal and magical.
Showy clusters of white flowers changing to yellow in Summer, pollinated by sunbirds and hawkmoths.
Should be sown in Spring when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C.
