Densely tufted, attractive perennial.
Bright green when fresh.
Leaves needle-like, 0-45cm x 1mm wide.
Inflorescence is a loose contracted panicle, 10-20cm long, drooping; spikelets up to 23mm including fine awns.
Can form avenues along paths especially after fire.
Should be sown in Autumn or Spring when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C
