Endemic to New South Wales in Australia.
Renowned for its striking large red inflorescence in the Springtime, each with hundreds of individual flowers.
Requires good drainage yet adequate moisture, it is vulnerable to various fungal diseases and pests.
Make good cut flowers.
Should be sown in Spring when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C .
