Compact, reed-like, evergreen perennial.
Spreads up to 0.2m and reached 0.5m high.
Tiny flowers are always hidden by brown bracts.
Female inflorescence are linear whereas male inflorescence are paniculate.
Should be sown in Autumn when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C.
