Low growing shrub up to 30cm tall. Sometimes has a different growth form (ranging from cushion-like to scrambling)
Stems are weakly woody and have conspicuous cork layer.
Yellow-green leaves are 4-ranked and almost cylindrical.
Flowers are 2-3.5cm in diameter, plat yellow, sometimes pale pink or salmon.
Should be sown in Autumn when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C .
