A dense erect perennial tufted grass,
with spikelets covered with grey hairs,
Flowers in Summer-Autumn
Grows in well-drained soils, grazed, most popular thatching grass in SA, also used for weaving rugs.
Should be sown in Spring when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C.
