Sword-shaped, linear leaves, margins with wings usually held at right angles to the blade
Variable flower colour (purple, red, white to pale yellow with red reverse) on a 2-6 flowered spike
Should be sown in Autumn when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C.
