Should be sown in Autumn or Spring when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C

Anenome vesicatoria is sown fresh or seed kept in a refrigerator to increase viability.
The seed will benifit from smoke treatment
Sow in well drained sharp rivers and mixed with well-rotted leaf-mould/compost that has not been activated with chemicals as with the commercial composts. Pine needle compost is one of the best if you can find somewhere to collect it.
Sow seed just under the surface and keep in a warm/sunny position but not direct sun all day.
Watch out for downy mildew on leaves and therefore it is better to water in the morning allowing the leaves to dry of water from below.
