A small and stemless plant, mostly solitary specimen.
Short, closely packed, thickly succulent leaves, more or less triangular in shape.
off-white leaf spots are fairly large and occur on the upper surfaces only.
Flowers vary from dull pink to bright red. lightly covered with a whitish powdery waxy layer and are characteristically subtended by long, curled, white bracts (hence the name).
Winter flowering.
Should be sown in Spring when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C.
