With three or four rosettes (some plants have up to 10 heads).Leaves are bright green but may turn various shades of pink and purple when under drought stress.
Margins have sharp brown teeth but the upper and lower surfaces are without any spines or prickles.
Flowers are very small, only about 10mm long and yellowish green in colour.
Should be sown in Autumn when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C.
