Growing Hints
Alberta magna is not easy to grow from seed, but worth the effort as it is a beautiful tree.
Some sort of scarification is needed for these seeds. Sowing the seeds densely is a good option.
- Soak in a weak solution (1%) of Sulphuric acid for 24 hours
- Seed germinates best if planted in an absorbent porous medium
- June or Early July is the best time to plant seed in South Africa.
Seedlings should be pricked out almost immediately leaflets have unfurled.
