Description
“Forest Fever-berry”
A beautiful, spreading, leafy tree up to 21m with a tall straight trunk up to 1m in diameter
Bark on the young tree is pale grey and smooth, becoming darker and rougher with age
Frequently blotched with pink or grey lichen
Branches are smooth and grooved
Leaves are dark green usually egg shaped
Flowers are small green, creamy borne in spikes many male but only a few female.
Fruits roundish, soft salmon orange covered with short hairs
