Plants are erect and up to 3m tall, usually single-stemmed with only one rosette, sometimes branched in two.
Leaves are long and relatively narrow, the lower parts curve gracefully upwards and the tips often curve outwards.
Small white spots are usually present on the upper surfaces and particularly the lower surface.
Reddish brown triangular teeth are present along the margins.
Tubular orange-red flowers whose tips are greenish-yellow.
Flower June/July.
Should be sown in Autumn when the difference between day and night temperatures is about 12°C.
